What do kids think of the new Apple Watch?

Not too long ago, I shared a video showing kids’ reactions to an old-school VCR. Well, those same video producers have brought the kids back again but this time they are not showing them old techology. Instead, they are showing them brand new technology—the Apple Watch.

As you would expect, the reactions are priceless. From not knowing what it does to being dazzled by what it can do to proclaiming that it would be perfect if it just had YouTube on it, the reactions are entertaining to say the least. Especially, when the kids find out there is a solid gold version that costs $10,000.

Here are some of my favorite highlights.

“Is this something that counts your steps?”

“It kinda looks like it’s like from the future. The future watch”

How do you know about the Apple Watch?

“Parodies online.”
“I’ve seen it in this video called, ‘The Apple Watch Sucks'”

“Oh, of course Apple made this.”

What would you expect a smartwatch to be able to do?

“Tell different time zone”
“Probably do the exercise thing.”
“They don’t have enough money to buy a phone but they have enough money to buy this.”

So with the Apple Watch, in order to get almost all of the functions to work properly, you also need to have an iPhone 5 or later.

“Are you serious?”
“That’s just dumb.”
“I thought it just worked by itself.”
“It’s kind of disappointing that you have to have a thing with you to make it work.”

“I don’t see YouTube. It’s worthless!”

“You look like a spy, just talking into your watch while you’re going down the street.”

“Why do this when you can just take out your phone in a second and answer?”

“I don’t really think there’s a need for this because you alredy have the phone.”
“I really like this. This is like a good idea. Whoever made this, amazing job.”

“Some people are just like, ‘Oh my gosh, this is the new fad. I need it, I need it.’ If you don’t need your phone to do all these things with you, then I think this might be a really big hit and everyone would want it. I know I would.”
