How do you turn your happy customers into raving fans? By continually surprising them with newer and better things. Amazon.com gets this with their Amazon Prime membership.
With one swift announcement, my already great 2-day UPS shipping just get better. That’s because I live in one of the 14 metro areas where Amazon now offers same day delivery. You heard that right—same day delivery.
Prime before bedtime
Over one million items in Amazon’s inventory now qualify for same day delivery. Order before noon and your products will be delivered before 9 p.m. Order before midnight and they will arrive the next morning.
What’s the cost for the new same day service? For Amazon Prime members, zilch, zero, nada.
Is there a catch?
Yes, there is a catch. In fact, there are two of them. You must place your order before noon (as I mentioned above) and your order total of eligible same day items must total $35 or more. My guess is that this is to ease into the new service. If I’m a betting man, the minimum order total will eventually drop and may even reach zero just like the current Amazon Prime 2-day shipping service.
Amazon didn’t need to give me another reason to shop almost exclusively with them… but they just did.
