Would you want to choose who you sit next to on an airplane?
People love to complain about who they sat next to on an airplane. The person talked too much. He didn't talk enough. He chewed his food too loud. He hogged the arm rest.
But what if you could actually choose who you sat next to on your next flight?
Well, you soon may be able to on KLM Airlines. They are piloting (no pun intended) a new program that will allow passengers to choose who they sit next to based on other passengers Facebook and LinkedIn profiles.

While I applaud this concept, I can't help but think how creepy this is. And I'm not just creeped out about being able to choose who I sit next to. I'm equally as creeped out by thinking about why someone might choose to sit next to me.
And the idea of the person sitting next to me studying my Facebook profile before he or she gets on the plane is just too weird. I don't need a stranger sitting next to me before we take off and dropping a line like, "So how was that Slaughterhouse 5 at Jockamo Pizza?"
What do you think? Is allowing passengers to choose who they sit next to based on other passenger's Facebook and LinkedIn profiles a good idea? Or are you as creeped out as I am? Leave a comment below with your thoughts.

totally CREEPY!
not everyone has a facebook/linkedin. also some people want to keep their privacy like me. i’m guessing everyone in this category gets randomly assigned to others like us?
also, who gets to pick? is it mutual in any way?
who gets the window or aisle seat? =)
i fly southwest all the time so passengers already pick their own seats depending on when they board. yes, here you can also pick by looks or age or whatever but at least your privacy isn’t invaded unless you answer questions yourself!
