When my iPhone feels ill, so do I
My iPhone has not been feeling well lately. It has been making strange ringing noises during my calls and occassionally even treating me to some annoying clicking sounds.
As if that weren't bad enough, it also randomly loses service after a phone call or incoming text message and the only way to restore service is to reboot the phone.
And sometimes, when things are at their lowest, a message will pop up on my iPhone telling me that the phone needs to be restored using iTunes.
This all makes me ill
Yes, my iPhone is that important to me. I often tell people that if I lost my iPhone they would find me wandering out in the streets somewhere like a bumbling idiot, not knowing where I am or what I am supposed to be doing.
So I had no choice but to take my iPhone to the iPhone Hospital, er... I mean the AT&T store. Actually, I didn't take my iPhone in, my wife did. I had to go to a 2-hour meeting.
2 hours without my iPhone. and all I could think about the entire time was "Is someone trying to call me? What if I'm missing an important text message? Do I have any new emails?"
I told you my iPhone was that important to me.
Luckily, this story has a happy ending. AT&T put a new SIM card in my iPhone and so far all is well again.
And I actually survived the two hours without my iPhone. How 'bout that?

I actually had a SIM card die on me once… but it was at 9 or 10pm… had to wait till 9am the next day before my phone would work again! Although that phone (not an iPhone) gave me a SIM card error so I was pretty sure what I needed and was a smooth transaction at AT&T;. They agreed with my diagnosis, gave me a new card, and I was on my way (with the phone working) within 5 minutes.

@asudduth - So far so good with me. None of the same issues since getting the new SIM card.

My biggest problem is battery life - only about 4-5 hours at a time. If I am out all day, I have to turn it off for most of the day to save the battery even with push turned off! What a wimp!
Any suggestions?
