When I heard it was possible to donate $10 to the Haiti earthquake relief efforts by simply sending a text message from my mobile phone, I thought it was pretty cool (good cause aside). When I read that the Red Cross has received more than $3 million through this effort as of 9 a.m. EST, I was blown away. Yet another great use of texting I hadn't thought of. She looked me right in the eye and asked, "Did you call him?"
My face turned red. Oh yeah. You can still do that.
