One feature I really missed when I got rid of my TiVos and switched back to DIRECTV was the ability to record a show on one TiVo and watch it back on any other TiVo. It wasn't perfect (wireless transfer was slow, you couldn't pause in one room and resume in another and you couldn't delete a finished show if it was recorded on a remote TiVo) but it was good enough to get by. Somebody please tell me I am grossly missing something with this new Blockbuster Direct Access announcement. Because I think it is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard.
Let me get this straight. I walk into a Blockbuster store to get a movie. They tell me all of the copies of the movie are rented out (or they don't carry the movie) but they can mail a copy to me which will arrive in 3 days.
In today's gotta-have-it-now world, Blockbuster just took a gigantic step backwards.

I finally got around to watching the Google TV video below on YouTube and I'm pretty excited about it. Many of you know that I have been predicting the demise of airwave television for a couple of years now. I believe airwave content will be replaced by Internet content. No more recording shows. I am really excited today because a new disc for the Wii is scheduled to arrive. No, it's not New Super Mario Bros. or Lego Rock Band. My kids already have those. In fact, it's not even a game at all. Here's the email tipping me off to its arrival This disc will allow me to stream Netflix movies on my Nintendo Wii.
