If you hung out on the Internet long enough over the summer you were bound to come across a video of Rebecca Black singing a song called Friday. It was wildly popular, but not because the song was good. In fact, quite the opposite. If you can not see the embedded video above please use the following link: Rebecca Black - Friday - Official Music Video Most people will agree that the song is juvenile and that the lyrics are terrible (to be kind). Some even argue that Rebecca Black could only pull off the song with the help of… Continue reading...

I have had DIRECTV On Demand for a little over 2 weeks now and guess what? I never use it. In fact, I think it's a total sham. Before I explain, let me back up a minute. A couple of weeks ago I ordered a wireless connection kit from DIRECTV that, once connected, allowed me to do two new things. The first was to watch and control shows on my iPad. Take a look at these examples: DIRECTV Pay-per-view movie: SD: $4.99 HD: $5.99 DIRECTV Live Event (UFC): SD: $44.95 HD: $54.95 Redbox 1 night rental: DVD: $1.00 Blu-ray: $1.50 iTunes Movie Rental: SD: $3.99 HD: $4.99 iTunes Movie Purchase: SD: $14.99 HD: $19.99… Continue reading...

Also, I heard a conversation the other day about dropping your cable and going with the digital box, roof antenna for your local channels then using the Internet for anything else. Will you expand on this solution and cover all the hardware needed and if a noobie like myself could complete this process. Do you know how much more we could add to our retirement fund if we could drop Internet and cable? Lastly, how… Continue reading...

Most of you who know me personally know I live on Amazon.com. It's the first place I go when I want to buy something. Only when I can't find it on Amazon will I start looking elsewhere. Which is why I am stunned that Amazon somehow just made their Amazon Prime account even better. Check it out: So now, for $79/year I get free two-day shipping AND unlimited, commercial-free, instant streaming of 5,000 movies… Continue reading...
