I'd be willing to bet that if someone explained to you what Netflix is, the words DVDs and movies would be mentioned multiple times. I'd also be willing to bet that the phrase "television shows" is never mentioned. Is there no end to how many new and cool features TiVo will introduce? Today TiVo announced a partnership with Domino's Pizza that will allow TiVo subscribers to order pizza for delivery right from their television. I've previously written about how Domino's pizza tracker is a hit with both of my sons. I can only imagine how they will react when I tell them we will now be able to order pizza using the television instead of the computer. Usually when I give one of my technical presentations, I'm not that nervous. But things change when one of the audience members is an expert on the subject matter you are presenting. Such was the case last week when I gave my digital television presentation to the Southside Computer Club. In the audience was an employee of WTTV 4, a local broadcast station here in Indianapolis. Unless you have been living under a rock, you have most likely heard about the upcoming transition to digital television on February 17, 2009. I've written about it several times here on the What's Noo? blog and there are dozens of public service announcements running on every major television network.

I have been patiently waiting for Netflix and TiVo to form some kind of partnership where I can download or stream Netflix's huge library of Play Now movies straight to my TiVo. Soon, the wait will be over. Netflix on Tivo will be a reality in December. As some of you may know, I am already a big fan of TiVo's integrated Video on Demand service from Amazon.com.
