I have loads of technology gadgets. I subscribe to dozens of web sites and receive a constant stream of informational alerts and updates. So why is it that I nearly froze at the soccer field last night? It's bad enough the temperature dropped about 15 degrees but the wind on the wide open soccer field provided the icing on the cake. And there I was in shorts and a t-shirt, freezing. Sure, I have real-time weather updates on my iPhone. I just didn't think to look before I left the house. Sure, I receive email weather alerts for my zip… Continue reading...

A few months back I read an article that mentioned the top two reasons technology products are returned to stores. They have nothing to do with the product being defective. Rather it's that the technology product didn't live up to the buyer's expectations or that the buyer simply couldn't figure out how to use the product. I've stumbled upon a unique opportunity for my blog readers. SanDisk, a company best known for making flash memory cards, has sent me a free SanDisk Mobile Ultra High Performance 8GB microSDHC Card with Reader under the pretense that I give it away for free as part of a contest. First, I am not getting paid or receiving any compensation from SanDisk for running this contest. I also am under no obligation to say anything nice or give… Continue reading...

I'm in shock that my LG Env2 mobile phone still works. Last night during my 7-year-old son's soccer game, I noticed that the drawstring on his soccer shorts had come untied and needed some adjusting. Being a good dad I waited until the half ended and then ran over to the other side of the field to re-tie the drawstring. Little did I know that my mobile phone had fallen out of its case and on to the field of play when I made my dart across the field. Worse yet, I didn't realize my mobile phone was missing until… Continue reading...

I'll probably never be able to prove it but I think my wife secretly works for Apple. In fact, I'm pretty sure she works in the iPhone division. I say this because every time I update the applications on my iPhone the icons end up in different locations on my screen. So just when I get used to Twitterific being in the 2nd spot on the 1st row, suddenly it is in the 1st spot on the 1st row. And Shazam is no longer in the 1st spot on the 2nd row, it's now in the 4th spot on the… Continue reading...
