Raise your hand if you knew I was on vacation last week in Cancun, Mexico. Ok Dad, you can put your hand down now. Indeed I did take a much-needed vacation with my wife and without my kids to the beautiful Excellence Playa Mujeres resort. I'm not telling you this to make you jealous (really, I'm not). Rather, I want to prove how technology allowed me to take this vacation with hardly anyone noticing. Write blog posts in advance In order to pull this off, I had to do a couple of things. First, I had to write five blog… Continue reading...

I've fallen in love with a new gadget. It's the ASUS Eee PC netbook. It's like a miniature laptop with all the bells and whistles. And by bells and whistles I'm referring to things like built-in wi-fi, integrated webcam and a battery that can last up to 7 hours. Then the power adapter can be plugged into any standard electrical outlet. In days of old, the power adapter was included with a new iPod. No such luck any more. But I still… Continue reading...

This morning I had a great opportunity to appear on the Fox 59 Morning News show to discuss how cold weather affects your electronics and what you can do if you accidentally leave your electronics in your car overnight. It's always tough to cram the amount of information I have in the alotted time slot but I did my best. Below are a few items I had prepared but didn't get to mention: You can find colored socks for your iPod on Amazon.com. A multi-color six-pack runs about $10 or you can buy them individually for $3-4 each. Or you… Continue reading...

I thought it would be fun to put together a list of the top 10 technology gadgets I would like for Christmas. When viewing this list, keep a couple of things in mind. For starters, I already have a bunch of cool technology gadgets like TiVo and a Flip video camera so this list isn't necessarily what I think are the top 10 technology gifts this holiday season. Rather, it's a list of the gadgets I would like to have that I don't already have. Also, I'm not really this material of a person or at least I try not… Continue reading...
