A few months ago I got my hands on an ebook titled "Top 50 Christmas Gifts". I was planning on giving it away to Noobie readers as an early Christmas present but had a last minute change of heart. My change of heart had nothing to do with giving it away. It had to do with whether or not a PDF ebook format was the best format to distribute. I tried something similar for Halloween and was shocked at how few people downloaded the ebook. While browsing my Facebook feed, I found a fun little game on the Internet thanks to my good friend, Doug Karr. The game pits you against a typographer to see how good you are at creating "pleasant and readable text" by distributing the space between letters of a word (referred to as kerning) presented to you on the screen. The game is ridiculously simple to play. It is also mildly addicting. QUESTION: I've been searching for something to no avail. I've been very frustrated and quite surprised that I can't find it. See, I'm a Film Girl. I love movies of all kinds (well, most, anyway) and I have seen countless films. So many, in fact, that I often come across a film that looks interesting, so I pop the popcorn and get comfy... only to realize ten minutes into it that I've already seen it. 41 years ago Google didn't exist. But something incredible did happen that year (1970 to be exact). Sure, I'd like to say the incredible thing is that I was born but that wouldn't exactly be true. You see, the incredible thing happened shortly after I was born. I'm talking about the moment my parents gave me my name. Those of you who know me well know there is no "k" on the end of my first name. It's Patric, not Patrick. It might be surprising to hear me say this but I think that searching for flights on the Internet has become increasingly complicated. It's the old paralysis by analysis problem. There's just too much darn information available. Sometimes I even feel like I want to pick up the phone to talk to a real, live, human travel agent (gasp!)
