I was 10 minutes late for a client appointment today and I have technology to blame for it. Ok, ok, ultimately it's my fault no matter what but it makes me feel better to blame it on something other than me. I love using my GPS to locate the nearest Starbucks or McDonald's while traveling. Or to make sure there is a gas station up the road when I feel I can go a few more exits before stopping for gas. I cringe every time I hear about a bank giving away a free digital camera or other consumer electronics product when you open a new account. Mainly because I know that whatever they give you is either going to be a piece of junk or an outdated model purchased in bulk from some clearance outlet. The other day I had some time to kill between 1-on-1 coaching appointments and was looking for a coffee shop to give me refuge. My plan was to grab a cup of coffee, fire up my laptop and use the free wi-fi to catch up on email until it was time to leave for my next appointment.
