If I had it my way, the $10 surge protectors you get at Wal-Mart would have their name changed to "power strips". I don't think they stand a chance at protecting any kind of real surge. They do, however, do a great job of turning one electrical outlet into 6 or 8 outlets. Don't read this the wrong way. Not all surge protectors are junk. This is definitely one of those areas where you get what you pay for. I just don't think $10 cuts it for quality protection. Yesterday was a big day for me. I traded in the Noobie van for a brand new 2011 Toyota Sienna. Yes, this is the noo Noobie van—I just haven't got around to putting the new decals on yet. Now, like a lot of other guys, a minivan is nowhere near the top of my list of most wanted cars. But I gotta tell ya boys, this minivan's got style! If you follow me on Facebook, you've no doubt noticed that I've spent quite a lot of time traveling over the past 18 months. I've been to local destinations like Nashville and Las Vegas and family destinations like Chula Vista Resort in the Wisconsin Dells.
