My dad stumped me with a noobie question yesterday. He saw both of my sons playing with their Nintendo DS game systems and constantly throwing around the term "DS". My dad looked at me and asked, "What does DS stand for?" I opened my mouth to answer but realized immediately I didn't have a clue what to say. So I sat and thought about it. And thought about it some more. And some more. And some more. The only answer I came up with was "I don't know. I'm not sure it stands for anything." Just then my 13 year-old… Continue reading...

I keep up pretty regularly with all things technology in the news. Which means I've known for quite some time that Guitar Hero is one of the most popular video games right now. But the problem I ran into along with the eventual solution to that problem changed my direction completely. It all started when I noticed… Continue reading...

I love technology that saves me money. Like this weekend when I was in a well known toy store chain shopping for gifts for my son's birthday. I knew he wanted a new game for his Nintendo DS so I started in the video game department. One of the first games I noticed, Animal Crossing, was one I knew my son wanted. I was excited because instead of the normal white price tag that all of the other games next to it had, this game had a bright yellow tag that read $34.99. I thought to myself, this has to… Continue reading...

BabyCenter, the self-proclaimed "leading destination on the Internet for new and expectant parents" is running a poll on their web site asking moms, "Which tech gadget, electronic device, or technology can you not live without?" Choices include cell phone, PDA, microwave, email, Internet, GPS, TiVo, television, DVD player, digital music player, video game console, digital camera, other and none of the above. I voted in the poll but found it difficult as you can only pick one technology from the entire list. I ended up going with the Internet because using the Internet is so much a part of what… Continue reading...
