I'm not the first person to share this video. It's been all over the news and virally distributed on Facebook. But I'm still guessing many of you reading this haven't seen it. Last weekend, the city of Indianapolis kicked off the month of May with its annual OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini Marathon. My wife completed the 13.1 mile trek, marking the 5th consecutive year she has done so. One of the many highlights of the mini marathon is getting to look online at all of the pictures the professional photographers snapped of you along the way. Have you ever left home for an extended period of time and wished you could peek in your house while you are gone? Sure, you could ask a neighbor to check on your house periodically but nothing beats real-time these days. Want to know why the cards are stacked against noobies? Here's one reason. Last night my kids were dancing up a storm to my son's new Wii game, Just Dance. It looked like fun so I decided to give it a whirl. Apparently my dancing was funny enough (but hopefully not as bad as Elaine's dancing on Seinfeld) that my wife thought it deserved to be captured on video. I've noticed something really strange lately. My kids don't seem to be taking many digital pictures with their digital cameras any more. It's not that they don't like the cameras. They take them everywhere they go. But instead of taking digital pictures they are taking digital video. Kids don't have technology baggage I'm not sure why I didn't see this coming. It reminds me of the first time my son printed something from the Internet and it came out black and white. He couldn't understand what happened to the color.
