I love to use technology in creative ways. Take for instance earlier today when I was helping my aunt set up her new computer. We were on the phone and she was asking me which port she needed to plug the monitor cable into. After a few seconds of trying to unsuccessfully describe the port, an idea hit me. So I asked, "Can you take a picture of the back of your computer and send it to me?" I knew this would be easy because I had just recently helped my aunt upgrade her iPad 2 to iOS 5 which… Continue reading...

I've been a happy Carbonite user for a couple of years now. I like the whole set-it-and-forget-it backup mentality. Plus, Carbonite takes care of the whole offsite storage issue. Unless of course you are really good at getting something done in 8 seconds. If you can not see the embedded video above please use the following link: Building Windows 8: Delivering fast boot times in Windows 8 Continue reading...

Recently, Noobie conducted a poll on its website asking How do you back up your computer? Most of the results were typical but one particular statistic did stand out to me. I'm referring to the I back up to CD or DVD option which garnered exactly zero votes. In other words, not one person who answered the poll backs up their computer data to a CD or DVD. This shocked me as I thought this would still be a popular option with some people. But I guess the widespread availability of USB hard drives and flash drives has all but… Continue reading...
