Technology makes it easy to catch Santa
My 7-year-old son is keeping me on my toes with Santa Claus this year. He recently told me that he is going to set out his digital camera on Christmas Eve so he can get a picture of Santa coming down the chimney.
When I told him that he would have to be there to actually take the picture, he one-upped me without missing a beat. "Well then I'll just set the digital camera on video mode and video him."
Still trying to maintain the upper-hand, I explained this time that, although he had a high capacity memory card in his digital camera, it wouldn't be enough to record video the entire night.
Never one to give up easily, my son once again had a comeback. "Ok, I'll just stay up until 10 minutes before Santa comes down the chimney, press record and then run up to bed."
I'm in trouble with this one folks. Real trouble.

Get a piece of red fabric or felt. Pass it in front of the camera as if Santa is blocking the whole view. Put down presents, remove fabric, and viola!, Santa caught on tape.
Or, hit pause, place presents, hit play. Viola! presents magically appear, and Santa’s so fast the camera couldn’t even catch him.

I think Santa would probably quickly pass by in a blur of red and then pause the camera himself.

@Michelle @Erik You two think just like me. I was debating making some noise, intentionally knocking the camera over so it filmed the couch or something and then let the audio do the selling. Jingle bells, sounds of putting presents under tree, etc. Just like Santa accidentally knocked over the camera.
