Quick Tip: Alt-Tab to switch between your applications

Many noobies running Windows XP or Windows Vista are used to the taskbar that appears at the bottom of their computer screen. They have learned that the taskbar shows a little rectangle for each program or application they are running. To switch from one application to another you just click the appropriate rectangle on the bottom of the screen. Want a quicker way? Hold down the Alt key on your keyboard and then press the Tab key. A small window will appear with an icon for each running application. Each time you press the Tab key, while still holding down the Alt key, a square will appear around one of the icons and a description of that application will appear below it. Keep pressing the Tab key until the application you want to see is highlighted. Let go of both the Alt and Tab keys and that application will automatically display.
