Please don’t share an email address with your spouse
One thing that has always been a pet peeve of mine is when a husband and wife share the same email address. So you constantly have to remember that when you send an email to one, you're sending it to the other as well. Bummer if you are trying to plan a surprise birthday party.
Worse yet, many times you have to rely on one person relaying your email message to the other. Sadly, this is often done old school by printing out the email or writing down a note as if you just listened to a telephone message. Where's the fun in technology with that?
Some of you reading this are going to tell me that your spouse doesn't have his or her own email address because he or she doesn't know how to use the computer. I say phooey on that. It's the 21st century and it's time for everyone to learn how to use a computer to check email.
Where does one get an email address for their spouse? You could start with the handful of freebies your own Internet Service Provider (ISP) gives you but I wouldn't recommend that. Instead, point your browser to www.gmail.com, sign up for a free account and be done with it. It's fast and easy and there's no excuse not to do it.
