Nine minutes and you will never listen to our national anthem the same ever again
Please allow me to take a tiny break from technology to share with you a video that was sent to me by a good friend of mine earlier this week. Actually, I received an audio-only version but found the corresponding video version (audio plus some accompanying slides) on YouTube.
The video tells an amazing story of Francis Scott Key and how he was forced to watch a British attack on Fort McHenry. And it is this very story that is now played out hundreds of times each day through the playing of our national anthem, the Star Spangled Banner.
The story takes nearly nine minutes to tell so go grab yourself a cup of coffee and get settled in. I promise you that after hearing this story, you will never listen to our national anthem the same ever again.
If you can not see the video player above, please use the direct link to the video on YouTube.
Happy 4th of July!

Very moving. Thank you for sharing. I actually got teary-eyed towards the end.

I will think of this story from now on when I hear the Star Spangled Banner. So proud to be an American!
