New technology lets you hit the bricks!
Last weekend, the city of Indianapolis kicked off the month of May with its annual OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini Marathon. My wife completed the 13.1 mile trek, marking the 5th consecutive year she has done so.
One of the many highlights of the mini marathon is getting to look online at all of the pictures the professional photographers snapped of you along the way.
But this year, they did something different. Something kind of technologically cool. They used video.
They did this by setting up a video camera pointed right at the famous yard of bricks on the Indianpolis Motor Speedway. Then they placed a timing mat just before the yard of bricks. This allowed them to match the exact spot in their video where you crossed the yard of bricks.
So at the end of the race, all you had to do was visit this web site, enter your bib number and click the play button on the video. And within seconds you are watching yourself crossing the yard of bricks.
I told you this was pretty cool!
Did you run the mini marathon this year? Share your bib number in a comment so we can all enjoy your video and give you a virtual pat on the back for a job well done!
