My most anticipated Wii disc ever

I am really excited today because a new disc for the Wii is scheduled to arrive. No, it's not New Super Mario Bros. or Lego Rock Band. My kids already have those. In fact, it's not even a game at all.

Here's the email tipping me off to its arrival

Netflix instant streaming disc for Wii

This disc will allow me to stream Netflix movies on my Nintendo Wii. The reason I am so excited about this is I haven't been able to stream Netflix movies since last December when I gave up my TiVo and went back to DIRECTV.

I know, I know. Little things excite me. Look for a review in the following weeks.

  • I got the email that the wii disc is on its way to me as well. w00t! You aren’t kidding, this is the most anticipated disc from Netflix too!

  • @y0mbo: Did you get yours yet? I got mine and at first glance the streaming seems a little slower than I remember with my TiVo.

  • You no longer need the disc as you can d/l the Netflix software from your Wii menu.  Either way, we find the whole senario of streaming from Netflix very frustrating.  The movies seem to always buffer.  We have a Verizon wireless aircard with a good internet connection and d/l and u/l speeds but the buffering with Netflix is a pain.  I am going to get a blu-ray and try with that.

  • Joyce - I had pretty decent success with streaming from Netflix on my Wii. I say had because I no longer have Netflix. My guess is the Verizon wireless aircard is your problem. Those aircards don’t come close (at least not yet) to matching the speeds you would get with land-based broadband Internet. Plus, unless you have unlimited data, you could really burn through your data usage streaming movies.
