Mr. Noobie™ reviews the HTC Trophy smart phone [VIDEO]

In this video I review the HTC Trophy smart phone, the first smart phone I've reviewed with a Microsoft Windows operating system.

As you'll see in the video, I have no problems expressing my true opinion of this phone.

  • Patric,
In my opinion Mango does make it better, but I personally like the interface.  In Mango to open an app you can speak “Open <Name Of App>” if you want. and in the list of Apps you can jump to a specific letter. But my favorite features are the Live Tiles (they are updated in Mango)—you get everything you need to know without going in to an app.  I can see I have facebook notifications, my ranking on FourSquare, how many emails I have from any account, and my next meeting/appointment.
(And of course you can “pin” any application to this screen that you use frequently)
I’m sure we’ll have to agree to disagree (I still respect your work!) but I’d love to grab coffee and chat about phones!
And in all fairness, I haven’t really used Android - my main comparison would be the iPhone.
BTW, in Mango you can do custom ringtones.
oh and yeah, I’ve heard from a lot of people that they are annoyed by the cut off text at the top.
Even though I’m a technical person, I’m probably not a “power user” of a phone so I’m sure my experience is different than others.

  • asudduth, I always love reading your opinion! Keep ‘em coming. Yes, some day we will have to sit down and talk about smart phones. Probably should wait until I actually see Mango. People keep raving about it but I’m still not a believer. :)
