If you don’t get YouTube, read this

I recently agreed to teach a YouTube for Beginners class at a local library in August. I'm excited about the class because there are so many people out there that still don't "get" YouTube. And although I'll never convince everyone, I'm at least making it my personal goal to get everyone taking the class to understand the power of YouTube.

But today, I'm just going to have a little fun by sharing some of my favorite YouTube videos that I have discovered recently along with a short reason why I love the video.

Up first, Super Mario on Violin. I love this video because my kids love it. And nearly every kid I know loves Mario. Oh, and if you think this video is stupid or silly and you can't understand why anyone would watch it, just ask one of the 1,702,363 (as of this writing) people who have already watched it.

Next up, the iPhone Antenna Song. I love this video because, simply put, it makes me laugh. Especially, 75 seconds into the video when he starts singing, "If you don't want an iPhone 4, don't buy it. If you bought one and you don't like it, bring it back."

And finally, the Old Spice guy videos. There's been a back-and-forth dialog between the guy from the Old Spice commercials (aka Old Spice guy) and Alyssa Milano. While I won't waste any more space telling the entire story, the short of it is that Alyssa Milano tweeted about Old Spice guy and he answered her tweet via a custom YouTube video.

Not to be outdone, Alyssa Milano stepped up to the plate and replied with her own video. Why do I love these? Because I think it's brilliant marketing and I truly believe Old Spice will make the $100k donation Alyssa is calling for.
