I am drinking the Apple Kool-Aid and it tastes good
Yesterday, I told my readers I want the new iPhone iNow. I said I probably wouldn't see the close of business today before pre-ordering the new iPhone 3G S. Well, guess what I did late last night?

What size phone did you get? I’m ALMOST tempted by the $99 for 8GB phone but have no idea if that would just make me unhappy later not to have the larger size memory—which I can’t justify spending the money for at this point in my laid-off-ness. And what does it cost to run the thing? (as far as ATT charges each month). I used my current phone to read some blog posts to my daughter when she was in the hospital and for just a small amount of time it added $70+ to my bill.
Sorry for the naive questions but I seem to have missed the day in school when all this became second nature to everyone else :-)
I’m trusting you’ll share your thoughts once your new iphone is in hand.

@SouthernGypsy: I got the 32GB iPhone 3G S. If you don’t have a lot of music or video you can easily get by with the 8GB (I have for the last 2 years). But I plan on doing a lot of video on the new iPhone and video takes up a lot of memory. That’s why I went with the biggest one I could get.
The AT&T;charges depend on how many minutes, text messages, etc. you want so it’s hard to give you a general price. I think the cheapest (the one I am one) runs around $70/month by the time you add up the calling plan minutes, text messaging and data plan.
Hope this helps! And yes, I will share more about the iPhone 3G S once I get it in hand.

@SouthernGypsy I’m not an iPhone expert by any means, but I’m pretty sure the 8GB model is the *previous generation* - if it was just a RAM issue, then fine… but since its not the 3G-S I personally wouldn’t make any recommendation for it even though a lot of the functionality will be available because of the software.
@Patric I just didn’t see you outline this and thought it needed to be pointed out. the 16GB is the lowest model 3G-S you can get.
