How to build a better blog

  • Posted: November 17, 2010  Topics: General

Don't let anyone fool you. Blogging is extremely hard work. Oh sure, at first you feel like you're king of the world, pumping out phenomenal content day after day after day.

But then it starts to happen...

You find it harder and harder to come up with new ideas. You get too busy to write a blog post. You get upset that people don't seem to be reading your blog or that you aren't getting a dime for all of your blogging efforts.

The good news is that we've all been there. Trust me.

But it's what you do about these feelings that will make or break you.

How I got through it

Me personally? A few years ago I jumped on board Darren Rowse's 31 Days to Build a Better Blog. It inspired me by helping me decide what types of blog posts readers want to read as well as coming up with "regular" features that reduce the stress of coming up with new content.

And I loved that it was broken down into daily tasks, with something specific you should DO every day.

By the way, if you don't know who Darren Rowse is, he's somewhat of a hero in the blogosphere. He lives in Australia and maintains a couple of blogs, most notably, his bread and butter site called ProBlogger.

He's also mentioned several times as a case study in a book called KaChing: How to Run an Online Business that Pays and Pays, which I'm just about finished reading (I plan on writing a full review of KaChing here on my own blog soon).

25% discount for the month of November only

So why am I telling you all of this?

Well, because Darren has provided me with a special discount code which will get you 25% of his two best-selling products for the month of November only.

You'll find the links to the products below. Make sure you enter the discount code november25 to receive your 25% discount.

These products are in the $20-30 range to begin with so, with the 25% discount code, both of these are an absolute no-brainer and incredible bargain. But if you can only afford one, start with the 31 Days to Build a Better Blog. I guarantee you'll love it!

  • Ive been reading about doing this sort of thing, but wondered if it really makes a diffrence. I suppose blogging is joke anything in life, it takes effort and time to get anything good out of it!

  • Nerdy Nure, yes blogging takes a lot of effort. Many people start and fizzle in just a few short months. That’s why I love Darren’s books. He teaches you how to push through the dips.
