How do you stack up against a professional typographer?
While browsing my Facebook feed, I found a fun little game on the Internet thanks to my good friend, Doug Karr. The game pits you against a typographer to see how good you are at creating "pleasant and readable text" by distributing the space between letters of a word (referred to as kerning) presented to you on the screen.
The game is ridiculously simple to play. It is also mildly addicting.
I played several times and was finally able to achieve about an 80% match compared to what a professional typographer would have done. I felt pretty good about this until my 10-year-old son asked if he could try and matched 100% on his third try.
Try it for yourself. You can play the game here.

Katie, that’s awesome! Maybe they should include this on that test your guidance counselor gives you in high school to tell you what career you should pursue!
