Do kids need to be taught how to use a computer?

I tried a little experiment in my house. After reading about a stick figure animation program called Stykz, I decided I would download it and give it a try.

But as I was downloading the software, it occurred to me that it would be more fun to download the program on my kids' computer and then just let them "have at it" with the software.

No instructions. No tutuorials. Just launch the software and let them play.

After 10 minutes, my 8-year-old son showed me this:
