  • I’d like to point out in addition to there being a TomTom app for iPhone there is a Navigon app.  This is currently $69 in the store.  My wife and I LOVE are Navigon devices.  (Unfortunately Navigon no longer makes portable Nav devices in the US, but they do make the iPhone software) - the iPhone software looks fully featured and the few things that are missing are sure to come soon in an update.
I personally haven’t used either app (therefore can’t make any recommendations) but I know that our physical GPS beat a lot we’ve seen so I can only imagine the app is better than some as well..  It at least deserves being looked at!

    Happy Traveling

  • @asudduth - Actually what I worry about most with EITHER the TomTom or Navigon is the battery life of the iPhone. If I am taking a 10 hour road trip, the iPhone battery will never last!

  • @patric tis true… 12V USB adapter anyone?
