Any successful Internet marketer knows you need to split test your marketing campaigns to maximize your chances for profit. For those of you unfamiliar with the term split test, in its simplest form, it means you split your target audience in half and try one thing with the first half and another thing with the second half. It might be something as simple as an email headline. Send one headline to 50% of your list and another headline to the other 50%. Then you monitor which headline produced the higher open rate. Or it might be the color of your…

Last week was my son's 7th birthday. We celebrated his birthday at one of his (and quite honestly my) favorite kid places, the Incredible Pizza Company. I love just about everything at the Incredible Pizza Company... except what happens right when you are ready to leave. I'm talking about the time when your kid comes up to you with a ba-jillion paper tickets in his hand and wants to go "shopping" in the prize store. While most kids are fairly adept at math it doesn't mean they know how to apply it to shopping. Usually, I spend 20 - 30…

Here is this week's roundup of Twitter highlights posted from my Twitter account: #LOST Question #2: Where did the people go in the plane when they flew off the island? #LOST question #1: If Benjamin Linus can talk 2 everyone in the flash-sideways world, why didn't he go in the church? Isn't he dead too? I still have questions after last night's #LOST finale. Going to ask them throughout the day. Who will answer them for me? For those of you who haven't plunked down $600 for an iPad #kindle http://lx.im/5ja5 #ad Sorry people, but I didn't shed a single…

The deadline to win a Spa & Golf Getaway for 2 came and went at midnight last night. But I've decided to extend it another week. I know what some of you are thinking. It's because we didn't get enough entries. This is absolutely not true. The real reason I am extending the deadline one week is that several people did not get registered correctly. And to make matters worse, they think they did. The best I can tell is that some people are entering their initial information (email, name, phone, birthday, etc.) and clicking the "Register Now" button and…

Want to know why the cards are stacked against noobies? Here's one reason. Last night my kids were dancing up a storm to my son's new Wii game, Just Dance. It looked like fun so I decided to give it a whirl. Apparently my dancing was funny enough (but hopefully not as bad as Elaine's dancing on Seinfeld) that my wife thought it deserved to be captured on video. Can't do that with the Flip Only one problem. My wife thought she could turn the Flip video camera sideways to get a vertical shot. When I told her you can't…
