For a few months now, I have been badly in need of a new computer. Mind you, when I say I need a new computer, my existing computer is probably still in more than tolerable condition for most noobies. But I'm a techie, remember? I need the latest and greatest. I get a lot of questions from readers and clients asking me what the difference is between a notebook and a netbook. It's one of the reasons I posted the recent article The naughty and nice of netbooks. I've followed all of the hype surrounding Microsoft's release of Windows 7. I've seen the commercials. I've read the technology trade articles. I've talked to friends who installed the beta and pre-release versions. But do you want to know something ironic?
