After several attempts to use technology to nab a high demand Wii Fit, I finally got one. In my last Mr. Noobie podcast, I talked about how I think that households recording their own television shows will soon be a thing of the past. I went to say how recording television programs will be replaced by on-demand downloads over the Internet. This fall I don't plan on missing any of the hit television premieres or pilots. No more standing around the water cooler listening to everyone tell me how great a new show was that I didn't watch or didn't record. This year I've hired a television guru. Actually I should say enlisted the help of instead of hired because my guru doesn't actually cost me a dime. His name is TiVo and he's quite good. I was helping a client the other day and we were discussing phone lines and fax machines. He was trying to figure out how many phone lines he needed for his home phone, business phone and fax. I told him that there was no need any more for a dedicated phone line for a fax machine. I talk a lot about Amazon.com and how easy it is, even for noobies, to order products on their web site. But a recent series of events made me realize it may be too easy. I wanted to order a Slingbox Pro and have it delivered in one day. The only problem was I was running out of time to meet the shipping deadline and I was smack dab in the middle of a fantasy football draft. My wife came to my rescue.
