Have you ever finished a long phone conversation with a family member or a friend, hung up the phone and then immediately realized you forgot to ask them about their recent vacation or thank them for a birthday card? Happens to me all of the time. Which is why today's technology I'd like to see is caller ID with notes (feel free to come up with a better name). Caller ID with notes would work hand-in-hand with your existing caller ID system. The only difference is that rather than just display the name and phone number of the person calling,… Continue reading...

My kids call the car I drive the Noobie van. They call it this because it's a minivan with Noobie vinyl decals on the back side windows. The are yoo a noobie? question spelled out on my minivan has always drawn lots of attention in parking lots, drive-thrus and even while tailgating at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin. There's actually about a 20% chance that I or my wife threw them away when cleaning up after his birthday party. So there my son sat with a pile of Legos, the box they came in… Continue reading...

I rented a movie from Blockbuster over the weekend. While I was browsing the rental shelves I became annoyed at all of the extraneous stuff that Blockbuster now sells. Instead of letting this get to me I decided to channel my annoyances and visualize what the perfect Blockbuster store would look like. That is, my own personal Blockbuster. I think it would look like this: The shelves would contain new releases only. I can't remember the last time I went to Blockbuster and rented anything other than a new release. It would only stock new releases that have 5 or… Continue reading...
