Last week, I finally bit the bullet and upgraded my browser to Internet Explorer 7, Microsoft’s latest version. Despite Microsoft moving a lot of buttons around on me I do like the new interface. The most noticeable difference by far is the introduction of tabbed browsing. How do you maximize a window in Windows XP? A seemingly simple question with a simple answer, right? Not necessarily. Most of you, after hearing the question, probably immediately thought of the little maximize button that appears to the left of the red X button on nearly every window in Windows XP. But did you know there are more ways to maximize a window? Next time, try one of these: Double-click your mouse on the title bar of the window (my personal favorite). I was recently in a bank that offered free Internet access and was astounded by what I saw when I walked up to one of the Internet-enabled computers. The person who had been there before me had been checking her e-mail and just walked away when she was done. She never logged off. She never even closed the Internet browser. Lucky for her I’m not a malicious person because what I could have done was read any of her personal e-mail or worse yet, sent out new e-mail in her name.
