A very noobie thing to do is to panic when you’ve accidentally erased something important when using your computer. Listen up noobies! It’s time for you to meet Ctrl-Z. Ctrl-Z is a key combination that can be used by holding down the Ctrl key located at the bottom left or bottom right of your computer keyboard (sorry Mac users this tip is for PC users only). Someone recently asked me, given a person’s name, what the best way is to find out that person’s mailing address using the Internet. I wish I had a one-stop shop answer for his question but I don’t. There are several sites on the Internet for looking up someone’s address but your results may be varied and your success is definitely not guaranteed. When the World Wide Web first became popular, most Internet browsers required that you had to type in a full Internet address in the address bar. For example: http://www.noobie.com/. More recently, the Internet browsers got smarter and added the http:// part for you allowing you to just enter www.noobie.com in your browser. Well, here’s a quick tip for you Internet Explorer users. If the web site you are trying to go to starts with www. and ends with .com, just enter the part in between the www. and the .com and hit Ctrl-Enter on your keyboard. During my past few weeks of coaching noobies, I’ve noticed that there are several tips and tricks to getting around on the Internet that many noobies are unaware of. One such tip is the use of the tab key on the keyboard. The tab key comes in handy when you are filling out information on a web site on what is typically referred to as a web form.
