An open letter to DISH Network

Dear DISH Network:

I am writing you to let you know that as a consumer I think Turbo HD is a horrible name. What exactly is turbo about your high definition programming? When I think turbo, I think faster. Does this mean your high definition programming will get to my house faster? Or that I can watch a high definition program in less time than with cable or DIRECTV?

Turbo HD by DISH Network

Perhaps you are implying that you have more HD selection than your competition. If this is the case, allow me to suggest some better names for your service:

  • Total HD
  • Ultimate HD
  • Extreme HD
  • Maximum HD

Finally, I have one more request. Please stop saying that your HD DVR is better than TiVo. I know it's not true. You know it's not true. Even CNET knows it's not true. I read the Dish Network ViP722 HD DVR article on CNET's web site that you refer to in your marketing materials and not once did they mention or conclude that your HD DVR is better than TiVo.

Thank you for your time.

  • I wish DISH and other television provides would stop sending me those lame flyers in the mail.  I don’t want them.  I don’t want your programming.  It’s what the internet is for.  :)

  • @Nichole You ought to see how much stuff DIRECTV is sending me on a weekly basis since I dropped them a few months ago!
