Last September, my 7 year old son became a Cub Scout. I knew as part of his duties as a Cub Scout he would be expected to sell popcorn to help raise money for the scouts. I love Halloween. I love watching my kids dress up in their favorite costumes running from house to house saying "trick or treat" trying to break last year's candy record. I even secretly wish that just once the Great Pumpkin would show up for Linus in the pumpkin patch. But my love of Halloween doesn't mean there isn't room for improvement. Especially when it comes to technology. So my technology I'd like to see is the merger of Halloween and technology. I have been patiently waiting for Netflix and TiVo to form some kind of partnership where I can download or stream Netflix's huge library of Play Now movies straight to my TiVo. Soon, the wait will be over. Netflix on Tivo will be a reality in December. As some of you may know, I am already a big fan of TiVo's integrated Video on Demand service from Amazon.com. But most of what I watch on my TiVo using Amazon's Video on Demand service I have to pay for separately. My hope is that with my existing Netflix membership that already… Continue reading...

I am 100% ready for the transition to digital television next February. I have four televisions in my house. Two of them are connected to a TiVo HD DVR with a built-in digital tuner and two of them are connected to a digital to analog converter box. Some less technical people, however, may not be as confident as me. I even know some TiVo owners that didn't realize they already have digital tuners. Those of you that know me well know that I am a die hard Green Bay Packers fan. I have to be. I was born in Wisconsin and lived there for 22 years. But since moving to Indiana I have slowly jumped on the Indianapolis Colts bandwagon. Partly because it's fun to be a part of the excitement here and partly because it's awe inspiring to watch Peyton Manning's mastery of the game.
