I'd be willing to bet that if someone explained to you what Netflix is, the words DVDs and movies would be mentioned multiple times. I'd also be willing to bet that the phrase "television shows" is never mentioned. Is there no end to how many new and cool features TiVo will introduce? Today TiVo announced a partnership with Domino's Pizza that will allow TiVo subscribers to order pizza for delivery right from their television. I've previously written about how Domino's pizza tracker is a hit with both of my sons. I can only imagine how they will react when I tell them we will now be able to order pizza using the television instead of the computer. A good friend of mine, Jason Bean, recently wrote a blog post titled Straight No Chaser Delivers the "Holiday Spirits" which caught my attention. Straight No Chaser is a local [Indianapolis] 10-man vocal group that got its big break when the Chairman/CEO of Atlantic records just happened upon on of their videos on YouTube. Usually when I give one of my technical presentations, I'm not that nervous. But things change when one of the audience members is an expert on the subject matter you are presenting. Such was the case last week when I gave my digital television presentation to the Southside Computer Club. In the audience was an employee of WTTV 4, a local broadcast station here in Indianapolis. Just when I thought that buying a new PC was no longer as daunting of a task for noobies as it used to be, I find out I'm wrong once again. I discovered this when I went to Best Buy recently to purchase a new PC for my dad. Before I tell you my story, let me set the record straight.
