The World Wide Web is a computer web, or network, of web pages. The World Wide Wide, or WWW for short, is what we often refer to as the Internet.

desktop
A term usually used when referring to a desktop computer. A desktop computer is a computer that is stationary and not easily portable. A desktop computer is usually comprised of a computer case (called "the box" by techies) and a separate monitor although there are exceptions such as the iMac where the computer case and monitor are contained in the same component.
Because of their larger size, desktop computers usually run faster and have more storage capacity than their more portable counterpart, the laptop.
