SSL
Definition:
Short for Secure Sockets Layer, SSL is used to provide a secure connection between a user's computer and a web server. SSL ensures that confidential data such as credit card numbers are not compromised when transmitting over the Internet.
If a web page is secured using SSL there will typically be a padlock (or other similar) symbol displayed in the web browser.

LCD
LCD stands for liquid crystal display and is a technology used in screens for monitors, televisions and other small electronic devices. LCD technology is popular in high definition televisions mainly because they are considered good for brightly lit rooms due to their minimal reflections. Some people report a "screen door" effect on LCD televisions meaning they can see spacing between individuals pixels on the screen if they get close enough to the television. LCD competes with DLP and plasma technologies.
