SRAM

Definition:

SRAM - SRAM stands for static random access memory. The static nature of SRAM means it does not need to be refreshed periodically. This is in contrast to DRAM or dynamic memory which needs to be refreshed periodically. SRAM requires more transistors than its DRAM counterpart which many consider to be a disadvantage of SRAM.
