Noobie, Inc. recognizes that there are varying degrees of noobie-ness in the world. If you have never touched a computer, digital camera or other technology gadget before, you might fall in the nooest-noobie category. Noobie uses a noobie meter (see graphic) to distinguish its articles, audio, video, courses & events, etc. to help noobies determine if the content is written at a level appropriate to their needs.

480i
The "480" part of 480i describes the number of vertical lines that make up a television or video signal. Most television or video signals are rated at 480, 720 or 1080. The more vertical lines that make up the picture, the crisper or higher definition the picture. The "i" following 480 indicates that the video display is constructed using an interlaced method.
The typical format for standard definition television programming is 480i.
