EDGE
Definition:
EDGE stands for Enhanced Data rates for GSM Evolution and represents a network standard for mobile phone communication. EDGE is used to transmit data services such as Internet and video messaging from mobile phones. Many consider the EDGE network a second generation, or 2G, network making it inferior to the newer and faster 3G networks.
