blog
Definition:
Blog is short for "web log" and represents a sort of online journal for an individual or business. Some people use blogs to give their personal reviews on the latest book they read or movie they watched. Others use it like a diary to express whatever is on their mind at any given time or to tell you what they had for breakfast that day.
Blogs have grown wildly in popularity because of the free-form, no rules nature of the writing and the fact that anyone can have their own blog. Most blogs also allow you to comment on what people write thus inviting social interactivity on the blog.
By nature, blog sites are relatively easy to set up. Popular blogging sites include WordPress, Blogger and Xanga although there are hundreds more. Web sites such as MySpace and Facebook were probably once considered blogging sites but have developed into much more intricate social networking sites.
Here's a word you may not know...
digital camera
A digital camera is a camera that stores its pictures digitally, usually on a memory card inside the camera. Digital cameras do not use film and the resulting pictures taken with the camera do not need to be developed. Since the pictures are stored digitally on the camera's memory card, the pictures can be transferred directly to a computer by taking the memory card out of the camera and inserting directly into a computer' memory card reader or by connecting the camera to the computer using a USB cable.
Once the digital pictures are on a computer they can be edited (cropped, red-eye removal, etc.) and then emailed as attachments or uploaded to a photo sharing Internet web site. Many local stores including drug stores and grocery stores now allow you to insert your digital camera's memory card directly into a kiosk to instantly receive prints from your digital pictures.
