PDF

PDF stands for Portable Document Format and is a file format created by Adobe to make it easier to exchange documents created on your computer. The PDF format eliminates the problem when you are trying to share a document you created on your computer with someone else and they do not have the software that you used to create the document.

The PDF format serves as a middle ground where all parties can view the document with all original fonts and formatting intact.

To share a PDF document, the sender must first create a PDF version of his or her document using any of the several PDF creation tools such as PrimoPDF. The recipient can view the PDF document by using the free Adobe Reader application.

Additionally, plugins are available for many Internet browsers such as Internet Explorer or Firefox to allow PDF documents on the Internet to be viewed directly in the browser without the need for the Adobe Reader application.
