YouSendIt.com Securely Sends Large Files
If you’ve ever clogged your email inbox with large files, exceeded your email storage limits, or hassled with burning and shipping huge media files on a CD or DVD, check out the simple and useful file transfer services offered by YouSendIt.com. Ordinary folks can send and receive large files with ease and use advanced technological features that enhance tracking, security and efficiency.
Getting Started
Getting started is simple with YouSendIt.com’s free “Try It Now” feature. “Guests” do not need to register and you won’t have to install special software. To begin, enter the recipient’s email address, an optional email subject line, and optional copy in the message’s body. Browse your local drive for the file you want to send and upload it to YouSendIt.com’s servers by clicking “Send.” YouSendIt.com limits total file sizes for guest to 100MB, but you can keep using the service as a guest as long as you want, and you always have the option of sending files to multiple recipients.

YouSendIt.com sends an email with a link to your file(s) using the secure, YouSendIt.com server. The designated recipient opens their email and clicks “Download” to store the file(s). If you or the recipient runs into trouble during this mostly intuitive process, YouSendIt.com’s online knowledge base helps answer questions.
If you will use the service more than once, it makes sense to register for a free user account (YouSendIt Lite). As a registered user, you’ll get access to YouSendIt Overview: a dashboard for checking the status of sent or received files and keeping an address book. YouSendIt.com does not currently offer options for accessing or importing existing address books from other applications, but it does automatically store each email address you use, growing your YouSendIt.com address book with each file you send.
Whether you remain a Guests or register for Lite, YouSendIt.com limits the size of sent files to 100MB and automatically deletes them after seven days. Guest and Lite users also may pay-per-use to send files larger than 100MB.
