Getting Started
Drawspace.com offers hundreds of straightforward (and free!) drawing lessons. Choose the right tutorial for you by reviewing color-coded lessons that are broken down into beginning, intermediate and advanced levels. You can also find lessons based on drawing techniques, such as perspective and crosshatching or subject matters, like animals and faces.
Find a lesson that sets your budding artists up for success by reviewing additional guidelines such as appropriate age ranges, skill levels and drawing supply lists. Drawing noobies also will benefit from a complete glossary of art terms.
With all the options, you may feel overwhelmed with where to begin, but you can easily preview each lesson before you get in too deep. For a beginner-level fluppy puppy drawing lesson, select it from the home page and you’ll get a series of three images to help you preview and assess the lesson progression. You can view the complete lesson online or download a PDF of it.
If you choose the PDF version, make sure that you have Adobe Flash Player or Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your computer to read these files.
Classrooms
In addition to the free drawing tutorials, Drawspace.com instructors offer guided courses for a fee. Click the Classrooms tab to view current course listings.
Unsure if a course is the right one for you? Download the class outline or ask the teacher for guidance. The outlines offer an abundance of helpful information, including appropriate skill and age levels, course lengths, study hours required, supply lists, mediums used and drawing subjects.
To sign up for a course you’ll need a user profile. Click “Register” to begin the process. Choose a start date for your preferred virtual classroom then make a secure payment using a credit card or Pay Pal.

Create a Profile
Creating a profile comes with some added benefits such as access to the free e-book “Drawspace Guide to Getting Started with Drawing” by Brenda Hoddinott. A profile is also required to enroll in classrooms or purchase e-books and subscriptions. Click “Create Profile” then enter login name, password and email address to create an account.
Bookshop
The Bookshop offers downloadable e-books as well as premium subscriptions that come with discounts on books and courses. As with courses, you can pay securely with a credit card or PayPal.
Good to Know
Drawspace.com tries to provide a seamless connection between tutorials or courses and forums/galleries. However, since the forums and galleries are hosted separately, your user profile information may become disconnected. You shouldn’t have any problems browsing these features, but you can always contact a forum or gallery administrator for assistance with creating posts or any other concerns.
