Last night’s American Idol results show once again proved to me how technology is constantly changing. During the new segment where viewers are allowed to ask questions of the judges and contestants, a 20 year old woman asked Ramiele, one of the remaining contestants who just also happens to be 20 years old, “What was the last song you downloaded to your iPod?”

Ramiele quickly answered with the name of a song by R. Kelly. What amazed me was that Ramiele never said that she didn’t have an iPod or that she doesn’t download songs. Instead her answer was so matter-of-fact you would have thought that downloading songs to your iPod is how everyone gets their music.

So it seems that the question, “What was the last song you downloaded to your iPod?” has begun replacing, “What CD is playing in your car right now?”
